Soon after I retreat to my room last night after battling with the codes, I found myself doing more reading.
Guess what. In the morning while I was at the church. My pastor actually read this verse out. I was totally dumbfound. It isn't the first time it has happened. Many times actually. Whenever something is bothering me, the moment I step into church, it just feel like trouble fades away. He is sure sending a very clear signal to me this time. Thank god.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pasture;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul.

rrrreally starts to irritate me when I tried commenting on Faith's blog and it turns out almost a full length blog.. So? Decision comes to blogging on my own blog. But still, I left a comment there as a bait.. (evil huh!)
First and foremost. Great work there. All her thots on Monetary stuff and happiness. Thats a great inspiration for those of us who has been moving in such a pace that we don't know where we are heading off to! Glad that she has found new insights on these issues and last but not least, congrats on the new found job.
Keong's stuff is good indeed. I have been following his laws of power.. Its really interesting!
XR's work is great.. esp the one on the ubin one.. With the 2 kiddos. Great job there!

"competitiveness = materialism"
-extracted from faith's blog-
In my point of view, it should be materialism that brings about competitiveness in human. If humans are not materialistic in the first place, they wouldn't have compete so hard right? But still, she has her point there. These 2 words go hand in hand really.
It does make me feel bad about myself actually. Thinking of it, everyday is a challenge. Its a competition. It really does straint me alot sometimes. I have always wanted to be a high-flyer, but on my course towards my goals, I have to give up alot of happiness on my way. Its a trade off kind of thing. Grades and stuff like that are all "materialistic wants", what more is it than an alphabert on your transcripts? But still, I do hanker after them. People do hanker after them.
I have to confess. I'm a very competitive person. I can find the smallest of things to compete with. And who gets the shit? My friends obviously. Of cos, not forgetting my enemies. I compete with almost anything I can find in my way. There is simply so much things I would compete on. But still, ultimately, I always become my own "worst enemy". I ended up fighting against myself.
But anyway still. No matter what, I still have to find a way to come to terms with all my wants and needs in life. On my way to find the balance in life, I will often lose my balance.
I know.. I know.. I'm just too "Object-Oriented"

Orite. So I went LEARNING again today. Rise and Shine to a brand new Sunday with a old motivation.... LEARN SOMETHING. But say, I actually had fun learning some of the new stuff. Apparently, I met up with a bunch of what you might call "computer geeks". It doesn't take me long to fall in love with Peter. Erm, I mean Linux. Its actually such a superb thing, I got pretty hooked on it. Cool terms and stuff like that. I was indeed amazed to be taught what Uncle Bill has got on MY laptop! The whole gang of fellows from SCLUG (they are not very good friends of Uncle Bill) were here to help and share the great things that Ubuntu had. To me, it sounded a very christian thingy.. something like sharing the gospel on a sunday morning, doesn't it sound holy for some reason? Yeah yeah.. Its all good. Well, Peter was a great fella who was so into Linux and stuff like that. This morning's workshop did shed new light on what Ubuntu has for people like us. Its kind of like a gene in me that I love diverting from the original topics. Its suppose to be a very technical morning session on Linux, but we ended up discussing about Business Models of Shuttleworth's. I'm really impressed with him thou. His idea, his mission, his vision. But anyway... Why do I keep diverting? ARGH!! This isn't right!
But hey, things are being learnt in a way of their own, comparing the first time I've heard of Red Hat Linux (go www.redhat.com instead of www.redhot.com) my very first impression of it wasn't the most fantastic.. My very first idea was to run back to Uncle Bill crying out for more Windows! But say, now, my idea of windows has changed till a certain extend seriously. To put it to a gaming context of "The Sims 2".. guess I should say.. "Uncle Bill is no longer a family friend!" And thinking of slightly more technical terms like "Open Source" and "Free software" and stuff of this genre, I definitely have a better idea now. Its good to read up on those stuff if you might ever become interested in such things. Try sites like wiki.ubuntu.com for more infomation. :)
The last word of advice from Peter..
"Its very addictive."
And yes Peter, I DO agree.
Quoting from one of the great Linux developer from some other ends of the world:
"We pronounce Ubuntu as.. UBUNTU"
Its all about Linux for Human Beings.

Happy Mardi Gras!

Wondering what Mardi Gras(pronounce it as "Ma-di-Gra") is?? Its a celebration of love and friendship spreading across different race and culture. A true celebration of the colorful world. A time where people get together to cheer for freedom in love. A parade to cheer on the people whom was often neglected in the society.
Erm, its actually love of yet another kind. As we often call it. Queer.
It has thus broken the the principles of "like poles repel and un-like poles attract".
By now, I guess you should have guessed what the parade was about. Yeah, it was a parade of the Gays and Lesbians. Ever see so many of them in a night?
Remembering how public pressure forces the blog of Jim n Alv to close down overnight? Remembering how people would start forwarding pictures of gays and lesbian partners smooching in the public? And whatsoever? How come is it so unacceptable in the society?
No doubt its against the law of nature. No doubt there are countries which are against such things. Not all religion would support such a relationship. But again, my question to all.. "Where is the freedom to love?"
Yesterday night, I was really immersing myself in the pool of fun and warmth of the paraders and fellow-fun-seekers. Ever see me jumping mad for more than 3 hours? Screaming and Cheering on the paraders. (So much so that I'm having a backache now and a detectable lost of voice.) Fellow fun-seekers group I was with were such a warm bunch. Some from Scotland, some from New Castle. We were all screaming like hell, dancing like mad, cheering like never before. They grab a pack of stickers from the Passing-by Organizer and start sticking on me and the gang. It was so funny. They practically flood themselves with beer (I had none I swear!!)
I was lucky indeed not to be standing in the front line. Apparently the lady infront of me was being kissed all over by alot of the paraders. She had saliva all over her because of that. Heee. My camera went out of Memory but one of the fellow fun seekers from Scotland would be sending me her shots, so be patient folks. I've got some videos for the first part of the parade thou.
I was really steamy hot, extreme high. Its not a parade of nipples and boobs, butt cheeks and thongs. Its about the FUN factor. The Aussies are really great fun to be with. You want it? They will bring it ALL on! And yes, I mean ALL!!
I even had this Aussie coming to me with this conversation:
Aussie: Do you (hic!) have a (hic!) Husband?
Me: Nope
Aussie: (hic hic!) Oohh.. do (hic!) you have a boyfriend then? (hic)
Me: Nope, but I hope I had.
Aussie: Do you have (hic!) a girlfriend then?
Me: Nope still, I'm still single
Aussie: (Turning to her friends) She is singleee!! (hic..) (Turning back to me) Hey, my friend here is Single too... Haaaa..
ALL: Laughters...
And yeah.. I forgotten all about my other SGrean friends with me at the parade, cos I was too caught up with my Aussie and Scotish friends, I was left behind in Sydney. Damn. But lucky I made it back with another SG friend in the end. Reaching back home only like 1am in the morning.
Haa..I will post up those pictures soon then! Seeya!

Burpppped..
Oh, I had a great dinner just now. Phew.. Despite having a good camera around. Despite rounds and rounds of reminding myself. I forgot to take a shot of those good food I had just now. Damn it.
But anyway, thanks to fellow contributors, Calvin for his Roast Turkey and Joanne for her Cabbage rice. Delicious. As for me, being the gracious host, I made a few dishes too. Here is my list.. Fried egg tofu with corn and mushrooms. Sweet and sour Fish fillets. Coke Chicken wings and Tung Fen with Chinese Sausages. Plus a little sweet cooling White fungus with Red dates drink. There you go. Wooo..
The following part is specially dedicated to Chewling and of cos, mummy.
Roast Turkey:
Deliciously marinated Turkey, roasted to crispy brown perfection. Toasty brown on the outside, tender lovingly juicy on the inside. Straight from the oven, its only going to melt in your mouth, not on your plate.
Cabbage Rice:
Not just rice. Its fragrance rice. With cabbage, dried shrimps and seasoned meat to go along your rice. Its just as good as a whole meal by itself. Best of all, its steamed, not fried. Healthy choice for heath freaks!
Fried Egg Tofu:
Look! Its tofu? To be able to find such things over here is a miracle. Not to mention cooking it. Tofu dipped into flour and fried to golden coins look-alike. A bite into it will expose its silky smoothe tofu hidden within. Top with delicious baby corn and straw mushrooms in tasty oyster sauce. Its set to sizzle all taste buds.
Sweet and Sour Fish Fillets:
Brace yourself! Its Perch Fillets all the way from Nile river! Wooh! Perch fillets marinated with all time favourite Chinese cooking wine (Shao Xing Jiu) to remove any stinko fishy smell, a dash of pepper for the extra flavouring and finishing it off by rubbing salt to taste. Garden fresh tomatoes and Brown onions stirred fried in thick tomato sauce going over the fish.. The sizzles? Its simply music to the ears..
Coke Chicken:
Another all time favourite. Chicken marinated over night to get the extra taste in it. Frying on medium heat to an exact of 70% cooked then braised in your favourite Coke. Chicks have never taste so sweet as before. Watch out, you chicks out there!
Tung Fen with Chinese Sausage:
Cool.. very traditional chinese dish. Using the simplest of the simple ingredients, Stir-fried Tung Fen with a generous serving of Chinese Sausage. Extra garlic to give it an extra fragrance. Ohh.. It just couldn't taste better!
White Fungus with Red Dates:
Cooling dessert for all. With the purifying qualities of white fungus and cooling effect of Red Dates, nothing else beats the wonderness of such dessert on a hottie summer day.
(Red hot dates after dinner not gauranteed)
I do hope these foodie descriptions would turn you people on (esp ling and mummy). Despite the fact that I've not been doing much of a cooking while I was at home, thank god that my Creativity didn't fail me. Its all mainly chinese dishes, nothing much special actually. I guess the only special bit is because its all done by me. I swear it did shocked everyone there just now. Who could have imagine an engineering student could have done up all those stuff? At least I wouldn't. Geez.
Anyway.. after a good dinner, its time to get to more work.. Won't be working too late tonite cos I will be heading for Sydney tomorrow! Wooh! Time for fun! Wahaa! See you guys around!
~~C luv CZ still. Not forgetting M too. Otherwise I will be blamed for it.
